Lashley is a writer and photojournalist who has been covering events in the city for many years. His focus over the past few years has leaned towards social and civil events. The emergence of the pandemic presented both a challenge and an opportunity. It allowed him to capture the energy and emotion that enveloped the city after the traumatic killing of George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks, which was on continuous replay on all news platforms worldwide; but also had to take time to acknowledge the loss of some important voices in the city due to the emergence of the pandemic.
